Resistance Exercise Bands Contest Entry
For the past 6 years I've been trying to lose weight and get in shape. I managed to lose 35 lbs on my own and then hit a plateau due to various life circumstances. I will break though my plateau with resistance exercise bands
I now weigh 206 lbs, and my goal is to get down to 175 lbs to avoid having to go on any medication for blood pressure. I've tried various workout routines and diet plans without much success. I injured myself twice lifting weights (once on my own and the other with a personal trainer), and gave up on that and switched to body weight exercises. I developed tendinitis in my left bicep and permanently injured my right shoulder thus limiting my movement. As part of my physio therapy I was recommended to lift light (5 lbs) weight and avoid excessive load on my shoulder and bicep, and to strengthen the muscles around the injured areas. I've purchased the Ultimate Body Press, push up rings and pull up bar. I haven't been able to use them to their full effectiveness due to the injuries I have.
The personal trainer I had recommended that I use exercise bands
(what you refer to as resistance bands) to slowly build the strength in the muscles around the injured areas and avoid excess strain. I know these exercise bands
in combination with the dip station, pull up bar and your workout routines will be able to help me get past the many set backs I've had and finally accomplish my fitness goals. Thanks
